Charles McDuffie PG, QSD
Mr. McDuffie has been employed in the geotechnical engineering field for 30+ years. He has vast experience as a drill-site coordinator for geotechnical, geologic, environmental, and forensic investigations. Having performed as project manager over a variety of construction and engineering projects, he understands all aspects of project development utilizing field and engineering experience to evaluate site conditions for producing thorough and concise engineering and earthworks recommendations.
Experienced with bridge, highway and road construction, large-scale mass-grading for residential, commercial, state, federal, FAA, utility and military projects. Familiar with a variety of exploratory drilling techniques, including bucket, hollow stem auger, Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), as well as, test pit and trenching techniques. Works independently to accurately document site field conditions, including geologic and soil classification in relation to construction projects or drilling for preliminary investigations. Possess deep knowledge of shallow and deep foundation construction, retaining wall and subdrain system installation, pavement designs, subgrade preparation recommendations, laboratory testing protocols and analyses, plan and specification review and SWPPP implementation.
